Costs
Each cottage is available for bookings on a weekly basis, from Friday afternoon till the following Friday morning.
This weekly cycle allows our guests to enjoy the experience of the Saturday morning markets
and to obtain the week's supplies - a wonderful experience and not to be missed!

The locations of our cottages are exceptional: they are centred in historic "5 star" villages.
A location "within the walls" is indispensable and the quality of your experience simply won't be matched by being in any hamlet or rural location of a lesser calibre.

Weekly tariff all months of the year for all cottages is as follows:

This price is ALL INCLUSIVE: bed linen, towels, telephone, free broadband internet,
electricity and gas, initial clean and setup of the house, private parking where necessary,
English speaking support by our local manager if needed, and many other smaller services
such as advice about your holiday plans and travel recommendations are all covered
for up to two people staying.
For each person after the first two it is $30 per extra person per day.
($20 per child under 12 years old per day)
We offer reductions for very young children or larger families.

Please note that our cottages are not country gîtes - they are fully independent,
fully equipped and self-contained village houses that you could live in; you will feel
very much at home and will find all that you need is right there,
especially in the kitchens where many of our guests enjoy learning to prepare regional dishes.

Payment Options
We offer a choice of two convenient payment options

  • For bookings made 3 to 9 months before the date of departure,
    Option A, payment in full
    , is recommended.
  • For more advanced bookings, six to eighteen months before the date of departure, you may prefer to use Option B, our easy instalment plan.
With this latter option B, a $100 surcharge per booked week applies but we will honour the tariffs in force at the time of booking, no matter how far in advance you reserve your weeks; you will therefore be protected against any prices rises we may have in the interim.

Details OPTION A
Full payment on booking.

Details OPTION B ($100 per week reserved surcharge applies)
A first instalment of $580 per week reserved is payable on booking.
The balance (which is the balance of the total tariff plus the surcharge mentioned above) can then be spread over four equally spaced instalments by pre-authorising us to charge your card on a certain day of the month that suits you or your credit card cycle.
The last of these instalments must be paid no later than three months before your departure for your holiday.
Payments may be stopped at any time should you decide not to go ahead with your booking.

Please see our cancellation policy for what happens in the event that you cancel some or all of the weeks reserved with us.

How to book your French holiday
The ideal sequence for booking your entire French itinerary should follow this timeline:
  • Longer term accommodation (our cottages) first, along with any Paris apartments.
(6 to 18 months in advance)
  • Hotels in Paris and other popular centres, especially if you are travelling in peak periods.
(6 to 12 months in advance)
  • Air fares
(3 to 9 months in advance. You often get better deals if you wait but don't miss out
    altogether!)
  • Car hire and barge trips.
(3 months to 4 weeks in advance- see our section "tips for our guests" for some useful ideas here)
  • Local attractions.
(1 month to 1 week in advance)
  • See our resources page to help you find any of these, or click the links above.
We use these complementary services all the time and find them to be highly professional.
